It’s true. There are a gazillion rosehip oils out there, but from the moment this pretty little box landed on my desk I was enraptured. It’s PRETTY. It makes me feel PRETTY. And there are reasons to why I still can’t find anything that tops the old oil of rosehips.
Packaging
Bloom Organics Rosehip Oil comes in a recyclable brown cardboard box, which sounds kind of “meh”. But it isn’t “meh” at all. It’s has a gorgeous florally / fruity / arty print, using my favourite colours (be they ever-so 70s) brown, orange and purple. Which look just lovely. The oil itself is housed in an amber glass bottle (to protect the oils from degenerating in the light), with said print also adorning it’s glossy sides. Dropper lid is utilitarian black, which gives the whole thing an apothecary, earthy, modern, pretty look. Like? Love.
Product
What can I say about rosehip oil that hasn’t been said before? It is a miracle product, and the truth is I didn’t really need to test this product out after being sent a bottle, because I was already using it!
What may be different is that Bloom Rosehip Oil is certified organic, so it is probably the purest thing you can put on your face. Completely unadulterated. Some people ask me why they don’t mix it up with lots of other herbally, floral goodness to make some natural serum extravaganza but the truth is that rosehip oil shines on its own. It’s like a lonesome cowboy (or cowgirl). Quiet. Inconspicuous. But can pull out the big guns when you’re in trouble.
For those who are ‘fraidy cats and don’t like the sound of smearing oil on their face well, let me tell you – it is the best thing you can do. And you don’t smear it on dear; you pat it on. Pat, pat, pat. Like that. I have (as a am constantly bemoaning) very oily skin thanks to my oily-skinned parents, and Bloom Organics Rosehip Oil balances it out. It leaves no greasy residue, and is perfect for day or night. It is what you use when you can see that your skin needs a break. For me it is my desert island staple. Along with my dog, smart phone, and an awesome bikini.
Rosehip oil is loaded with antioxidants and essential fatty acids (EFAs for all you cool kids). My skin always looks like I have slept like Sleeping Beauty after I use this rosehip oil overnight. It plumps fine lines and hydrates the skin, and I truly believe it diminishes wrinkles over the long term. This is the first product I usually recommend to anyone, whatever their skin condition may be. It is also excellent for eczema skin.
Cost / Usage
At AU$25 for 15ml, Bloom Organic Rosehip Oil is an absolute bargain. I use three drops every night, and to be honest I lose count of how long it takes me to finish a bottle, because it takes aaaaaages. It is the best $25 you will spend on skin care, hands down.
Bravo, Bloom!

Couldnt agree more, I started using this product about 2 months ago. Its awesome.
I am keen to try this one, I love RHO and I would definitely prefer to use an Australian brand. It sounds like skin perfection in a bottle 🙂
Rosehip oil is an ingredient. Paying $25 for 15mL is not a bargain at all. If you google rosehip oil ‘carrier oil’ or ‘soap making’ you will find the same pure organic oil for $200 for nearly four litres, or 3785mL. If you go about this way, it’s a savings of $1.61 per mL or $6093.85.
Your call.
