  1. I think it was for my 12th Birthday, a friend gave me an apple pie and a bottle of Devondale Apple cider because she knew they were my favourites. Needless to say none of it lastest long as it was all super yummy! 😀

  2. The best gift that I have ever been given is a photo that my sons had enlarged and repaired that was taken 52 years ago of me and my grandfather and brother it is the only photo of my grandfather that the family has. It was taken just before we left Scotland to come and live in Australia. My grandfather died the next year so this photo is very precious to me

I feel so blessed that I have been chosen as their mum,
to love, nurture, encourage, help my children thrive and have fun.
Live life together with all our ups and downs,
It is such a special gift given to me which I will cherish, love, treasure while I am around.

  5. The greatest gift I ever received was my little boy. He was definitely a gift from something amazing. Nothing else I have received comes close.

  7. One of my favourite gifts was given to me by my husband and it didn’t cost him a cent… He made up 12 vouchers for me … And on each one it said things like… Take the afternoon off, one back rub, no cooking tonight, book yourself in for a manicure… It was very thoughtful and I enjoyed cashing in my vouchers 🙂

  8. My favourite gift was, a lovely scarf my grandmother frequently wore.. nothing fancy but it was just ‘nan’. I got given it by my grandfather when nan passed away.

  9. The gift of my first Grandbaby, the best gift ever given to me, he literally saved my life and is the apple of my eye!

  10. My daughter Emma born the day before my birthday is by far the best gift I’ve ever received. She is now 22 and still a blessing.

  11. After loosing our first baby, I didn’t receive the support from my mother that I would have expected – her description of the baby was ‘it’s nothing’. Infuriating me, and agreeing to disagree, she must have had a rethink. Three weeks later I received a beautiful antique photo frame to hang off our dresser mirror and a dear poem bookmark. It’s funny how us girls need to seek that acceptance from our mother’s in difficult situations. This keepsake leaves me with a tangible reminder of our little girl lost.

  12. The best gift i ever received was when my daughters took all our old home movies on videos & had them put together on a DVD. They made me cry when i got it for xmas 🙂 such a thoughtful gift.

  15. I lived abroad for 15 years, returned to Oz, married and had my daughter in a matter of 2 1/2 years. They were big changes.

Her support and her presence were my favourite gift and I smile remembering just how happy I was having her here with me.

  16. After the birth of my son, I suffered from Post Natal Depression. Receiving a plane ticket so I could be with my family to give me support that I needed at that time is the best present anyone has ever given me.

  17. Best birthday gift was a trip to Paris and Switzerland for my birthday while kids were young. Husband cared for them and let me wing off on my adventures and to visit friends .

  18. My father’s last birthday gift to me. Instead of getting me to buy something (which most people do) he went out and surprised me with something I really needed – entry tickets to the local pool. I had wrecked my back and needed hydrotherapy. I loved the gift as he had thought about what I needed, not just what was easy for him.

  19. My best gift was a day to myself! Literially, husband took the kids out, the phone off the hook, a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the front door and just me, a platter of antipasta, a bottle of wine and a good book. Blissful!

  20. A spa treatment of makeup, hair, pedicure and manicure before my daughters wedding two weeks ago. I was so happy and pampered and it made me feel I could fly to the moon and back with how I looked. It was a makeover I will never ever forget and I have the best wedding pics looking like an awesome mother-of-the-bride. I would love to do it all over again… simply a magical day! Thankyou Sophie.

  21. A Mother’s Day gift from my five year old that he made at preschool it was questions he had answered about me like my favourite food or colour etc it was quiet funny considering most of the answers were actually what he liked. It gives me a giggle everytime I read it.

  22. The best gift I have ever received was a birthday card made for me by my niece with a drawing she did of me whilst I was in hospital.

  23. My favourite gift was meeting my half-sister for the first time, on my 38th birthday. Despite being brought up in different countries, we are so alike, and it was like we’d been friends for years. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday present.

  24. A handmade card from my Grandmother. At the time I hated it – it was made from a piece of A4 paper folded in four, then some dried flowers stuck to the front and cover in Contact plastic adhesive covering. It must have been the first time she had used it because it was creased and poorly done. Now this is a special gift I still have in my possession and the is most treasured memory I own from my Grandmother.

  25. I was given a gift of face massage from a very appreciative boss many years ago, it was very very special

  26. Years ago for an upcoming birthday an old boyfriend asked what I’d like to receive. I said I’d like some perfume, but not to buy one particular brand as it smelt like fly spray on me. Wouldn’t you know it, this was exactly the brand he bought! This was a good gift to receive because I learned just how little he cared and how wrong he was for me, and hence I had a lucky escape!

  27. For my birthday I got my first ever period and my uncle got me a huge box full of chocolate and DVDs. I wish I had these with every period I get

  28. My husband who is my soulmate and my Bub to be and my friends and family. I am truly blessed. Money doesn’t buy happiness.

It was such an amazing way to capture and keep all our first wonderful memories together.

  35. My favourite gift was for my 40th birthday , a pair of diamond earrings from Tiffany and co jewellers, beautiful and special.

  36. Being blessed with being born into such a loving and caring family. My dad is my rock with so much wise advice and my mum taught me to live life and ,are the most of every day because you never know when it’s your last.

  37. It took a very long time to fall pregnant, and as my bubby grows in my tummy I’m thankful every day for this beautiful gift.

The gift of first born Grandchildren, it’s a special gift when both my son and daughter hand their precious new arrivals to myself and my hubby at the same time, in the same room, in the same hospital.
