KORA Organics Love Guaranteed Pack

I got the pleasure of sampling the “Love Guaranteed” pack of Kora products by Aussie model, Miranda Kerr. Kora is completely natural and contains certified organic ingredients to boot. You can purchase each of these products separately, or get your beau to spoil you with the pack!

KORA ESSENTIAL BODY WASH

Packaging

I really love the fact that Miranda hasn’t gone down the cliché natural packaging path. The light blue and white tubes have a real fresh and light quality about them, almost ethereal (like Miranda herself!), and are made from recyclable plastic. The flip-top makes it easy to handle in the shower. It all looks very cool lined up along my bathroom sink!

Product

You can use this body wash in the bath as a bubble bath, but I just used it in the shower with a sponge, and although it didn’t lather luxuriously, it lathered well enough. It is a light brown gel – I think the colour has to do with the incredibly healing base ingredient of noni berry extract.

The smell is very subtle, a light woody floral. It is earthy and sensual, but fresh and not at all heavy. It is very comforting and perfect for winding down. This body wash is also enriched with aloe vera, rose, wheat protein, lecithin, green tea and lactic acid, so it helps buff away dead skin cells whilst cleansing and healing your skin. My skin felt very soft and plump afterwards.

Cost / Usage

I used about 1.5 teaspoons to lather up over my entire body, which is quite good. It isn’t the cheapest body wash available, but considering the expensive essential oils used, and other quality ingredients I think it is very reasonably priced. And the glamour factor gives it a few extra bonus points!

KORA ORGANIC RICH BODY LOTION

Packaging

The same as the body wash. Clean, fresh, and chic.

Product

This lotion has a nice, thick consistency, and is a creamy yellow colour (probably from the carrot seed oil), though it is the ingredients that I am really impressed with. It is chocca-full of star ingredients that serve to hydrate, nourish, and keep your skin supple and healthy.

Noni fruit, brown kelp (increasing cellular growth and renewal),  mango butter, omega 6 fatty acids, lactic acid to help shed old skin cells, hyalonurate (one of cosmetics most nourishing ingredients available), jojoba, rosehip and avocado oils (all great for scars as well), Vitamin C, Vitamin A, pomegranate, hibiscus extract…the list goes on and on. And by goodness it does it’s job! I used it all over my body and immediately my skin felt softer and plump, and the effects lasted well into the next day. I love it and it is the perfect antidote to dry winter skin. The scent is a woody citrus, which sounds strange but it really works for me, as it is sensual and earthy, but not overpowering, but with nice light citrus overtones.

Cost / Usage

I used a dollop the size of a Mintie all over my body, including my back, and that was more than enough. I think the good thing about this lotion is that your body feels nourished and soft for such a long time after using it. I think it would last you 7 weeks with daily use. Considering the excellent ingredients I think this product is well worth the price, and if you are going to splurge a little on yourself, this is the body moisturizer I would get this winter. I will certainly buy another when this one runs out!

KORA BALANCING ROSE MIST

Packaging

This hydrosol comes in a gorgeous white glass bottle, which instantly ups the chic factor! It is a handy size, not at all big or clumsy to use.

Product

I am pretty fussy about my face mists, and to be honest the spritz pump wasn’t fine enough to deliver a fine mist all over my face. It was more of a spray that I had to squirt a few times. That being said, I was immediately overcome with the DIVINE smell of roses – definitely more than a simple hydrosol usually offers. Pure rose essential oil (one of the world’s most expensive essential oils) is included in the ingredients, as well as the ever-present noni extract, jasmine, hibiscus extract, Vitamin C, moisturizing glycerin and hyalonurate, with skin-brightening lactic acid and sugar cane ethanol. This is no simple hydrosol! It is loaded with antioxidants to lock into your skin before your daily moisturiser.

Cost / Usage

This is a lovely face mist for face mist aficionados. Although it does contain some expensive ingredients I find the price a little steep for an item I personally think is not super-necessary for a great skin care regime. The glam factor is way up there though, and it is worth it if you want to spoil yourself.

KORA LOVE GUARANTEED PACK – the verdict

Miranda Kerr created this special pack as a way to spread the love (hint – leave this page open on your desktop for your lover to discover, umm, whoops!) It comes in a glamtastic little box and yes, opening it does make you feel like you are rubbing shoulders with Her Gorgeousness! It’s a little bit of red carpet for your bathroom, and one that is all-natural and works an absolute treat. A perfect gift in my books – and as promised…I loved it.

  1. I have acne-prone skin so someone recommended I try Kora because it was Ecocert organic, so I tried the Exfoliating Cream and Purifying Day and Night Cream. I’m sorry to say that the condition of my skin actually worsened after using them…in addition of not helping to control the acne, my skin became really dry, itchy and blotchy. I wrote on the Kora blog asking about it and was told it could be my “hormones” acting up and perhaps I should change to another Kora product. That in itself tells me that the people who sells these products don’t actually care for the clients at all, just how much they can make off guillible people.
I have since wrote back and stated that I would like to return the products and get a refund, and have been totally ignored.

Well, I wrote to Ecocert asking them about Kora Organics’ claims to be Ecocert certified organic and have been informed that of all the range, only the Balancing Rose Mist and Energising Citrus Mist are actually certified organic by them…NOT ANY OF THE OTHERS. I think it is very shameful of Ms Kerr to fraudulently claim her products as Ecocert certified organic when they’re not. I’m now back to using doctor-prescribed skincare products.

  2. Hi Alison,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we are sure other readers will appreciate your feedback.

We know a lot of people who have had success with the Kora range, but sometimes products don’t agree with everyone.

While we cannot comment on the Ecocert comments because we simply don’t have all the information on hand we are always happy to hear both positive and negative product experiences.

We really hope you have success with your skin, and hopefully the doctor prescribed skincare products work for you.

    Thanks for reading!

  3. Alison,
I normally don’t write on blogs etc, in this case- I feel the need. Miranda and her team work very hard to provide a product containing ingredients that benefit most skin types. It’s frustrating to have skin problems, but quite unfair to boycott kora as a whole. People like you, discourage young girls from trying something that may really help them. While I’m sure this website encourages feedback of all types, I believe you should consider accepting that kora simply wasn’t right for you; move on and try something else.

  4. Hi,Alison.Same here, this is the first time ever i write back a comment.Personally speaking,i agree with what you said. The product stated “Organic, but it does have alcohol and some de-organic in them.
